Affordable Disaster Recovery for Exchange Server with CloudArray
Anywhere, anytime data accessibility for Microsoft Exchange 2010 DAG / HA configurations
Affordably and Simply Replicate and archive data offsite while preserving local administration, control, and performance
Exchange 2010 and CloudArray offer Offsite Storage option for Database Availability Groups (DAG)
Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and CloudArray software together provide companies with an easy-to-use and economical solution to securely replicate and archive Exchange mailbox server databases to cloud storage.
Microsoft has changed the storage architecture with Exchange 2010 to encourage the use of distributed, lower cost storage while still retaining a high degree of redundancy and recoverability at the local level. This allows you to configure multiple nodes in a Distributed Availability Group, each able to manage the data and workload of a failing member. By attaching CloudArray to one of the nodes in a DAG, you extend that resiliency to affordable offsite Cloud Storage without impacting your local performance or Exchange server operations. You move from local only online recoverability to both local and remote, and you do so without the costs associated with maintaining a second operational site.
The solution provides high data availability with no single point of failure - to include Cloud Storage providers - ideal for DR initiatives. By allowing the use of zero-footprint snapshots, Exchange administrators can maintain multiple offsite images of their Exchange database for recovery, test, discovery, or archival. Having a fully consistent and highly accessible offsite copy allows easy migration between data centers without the use of tape or extensive downtime. Your Exchange environment can easily be recovered to either a physical or a virtual environment.
CloudArray can also be used to simplify your Exchange Server backup and offsite storage processes. For companies that are using tape systems or disk-to-disk backup for data protection, they can now select CloudArray as the target backup solution. CloudArray eliminates all the logistics and costs typically associated with media transport or tape vaulting services and does not require large capital investments in infrastructure whenever expansion is required.
CloudArray Packaging
CloudArray is available in several configurations to meet customer needs and requirements. It is available in a virtual appliance supporting VMware ESX/ESXi, Citrix XenServer, and Microsoft Hyper-V platforms. It is also available in a physical appliance for customers that want a dedicated physical server to run CloudArray.
What exactly does CloudArray deliver for Exchange 2010 Environments?
CloudArray provides an economical and highly reliable storage tier to Exchange 2010 DAG Mailbox Servers (Active Manager). This storage tier has the same characteristics as local SAN storage to include performance and security. CloudArray co-exists along side of SAN attached storage in an Exchange environment. Once configured, CloudArray volumes can be mapped to Exchange Active Managers and as mailbox data is written to CloudArray volumes, it is asynchronously replicated to one or more public Cloud storage providers.
