Veeam Backup & Replication is the first enterprise-ready solution that combines backup and replication in a single product for fast recovery of your VMware ESX and ESXi environment.

CloudArray software, when used in conjunction with Veeam Backup and Replication software, will provide the ability to quickly and easily use low cost, highly scalable, and pay-as-you-go Cloud Storage for your VMware VM backup sets.

For companies that are using tape systems or disk-to-disk backup for data protection in their VMware environments, they can now select CloudArray as the target backup solution with Veeam Backup and Replication software. The combination eliminates all the logistics and costs typically associated with media transport or tape vaulting services and does not require large capital investments in infrastructure whenever expansion is required. Veeam provides powerful De-duplication and Constant Data Protection functionality, improving data backup and transfer times and reducing the amount of storage required.

For existing Veeam customers, CloudArray will provide a fast and efficient gateway to Cloud Storage providers of their choice. This can provide a cost effective offsite replication and recovery solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional two-site solutions.

Data Availability and Security

For increased data protection, CloudArray offers data copy policies that replicate data across local storage and a variety of third party storage cloud providers to ensure high data availability. CloudArray also enables replication between service providers. CloudArray compresses and encrypts data prior to transporting it to public cloud storage to ensure data security and privacy. CloudArray leverages the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) (256 bit with HMAC).

CloudArray Packaging

CloudArray is packaged as a virtual appliance supporting VMware ESX/ESXi. Since it runs as a VM in VMware ESX, you can configure it as either an HA node or in Hot Stanby Mode, for added availability and resiliency. CloudArray instances are protable, and can be restored at any recovery site that may be needed (provided you have the correct credentials and encryption keys) for Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity purposes.
