Most novice bloggers are unaware of the various sorts of blog posts that may be written on their blogs, and they end up posting only a few specific types of blog articles.

I didn’t know the numerous sorts of blog posts that may be posted on my blogs when I was a rookie blogger.

I ended up publishing only a few blog articles, such as How to’s and tutorials, and my site became confined to these blog posts.

But as time went and I began to write more frequently, I began to examine blogs in my area more frequently, and I learned that there are many more sorts of blog articles that I was not creating for my blogs.

And it was at that moment that I began to think more openly and began to focus my efforts on other sorts of blog postings as well.

This article will show you all of the different sorts of blog articles that I’ve read over the last several years of my blogging adventure, and of which I’ve attempted creating some of them myself.

So let’s get this party started.

Different Types of Blog posts

Here is the list of different types of blog posts you should write in your blogs to get the most out of your blogging efforts.

1. How-to Articles

This is the most typical form of a blog article that every writer creates in their early blogging days.

If you are a new blogger, you should start creating tutorials and how-to’s to your subject so that people will notice your site and, finally, they will want to hang around on your blog because of your excellent tutorials.

How-to articles are blog posts that may be written to explain anything in your area.

Like for example:

  1. How to cook Rice in 15 minutes
  2. How to play basketball
  3. How to play the guitar etc.

These are the types of articles in which you explain to your blog readers how to accomplish something, and they are the greatest articles you can write for your blog in the early stages of your blogging career.

Here’s an example of a How type post from my blog: How to Find a Niche For Your Blog

2. List Posts (Listicles)

List posts are posts in which you list something relevant to your niche.

Assume someone reading your blog is looking for a solution to an issue, and you may create a blog post like the top 10 solutions to tackle that problem, with each individual listing having its own blog post or resource to which you should link.

As an example:

  1. Top 10 ways to cook rice
  2. Top 10 guitar equipment
  3. Top 10 best mobiles under $500

And the Blog Post you are reading right now is also an example of a list post in which I’m listing down all of the different types of blog posts you can write for your blogs.

Here’s another example of a list post from my Blog: 15 Most Important WordPress Plugins List That Every WordPress Website Must Have

You may also make a lot of affiliate sales if you feature some of the goods in your listicles and explain why people should buy them.

You may also produce sponsored pieces based on listicles, mentioning the top product as the sponsored product, and the firm will pay you for it.

3. Review Blog Posts

Review blog posts are pieces in which you give your opinion on something.

You can evaluate anything relating to your blog’s niche.

For Example:

  1. WordPress vs Blogger review
  2. Hp Laptop review
  3. Samsung galaxy s10 review

Here’s an example of a review post from our Blog: GeneratePress WordPress Theme Review

Review blog posts are mostly about a product, service or anything that you have used in the past and that you would like to share your experiences about.

So as you can see from the above example, we write reviews for any product, and if your articles rank on search engines, you can make good affiliate commissions from these types of articles.

Most people make affiliate income through affiliate Review articles, so you should definitely write review articles on your blog.

4. Interview Blog Posts

You can interview influential people in your niche, and you can ask people questions like a typical interview and publish it as a blog post on your blog.

Here’s an example of an Interview Post: Harsh Agrawal Interview

The benefit of writing interview blog posts is that whenever you publish an interview, the influential person who is getting interviewed gets fascinated and will share that content with their audience. You will get more eyeballs to your blog in this way.

5. Alternatives Blog posts

Alternatives blog posts are blog posts where you give an alternative product recommendation for the existing product

like for example:

  1. VISA debit card alternatives
  2. Yamaha Guitar alternatives
  3. Hp laptop alternatives etc.

Here’s an example of an Alternative Blog post: Fiverr Alternatives

So you get the idea. These types of Articles also tend to give you good affiliate sales.

6. Coupon / Discount / Deals Blog posts

Coupon Blog posts are posts in which you give information about a coupon or discount to your blog readers related to some product.

And from these articles also, you can generate some good affiliate income.

Here are examples of coupon blog posts:

  1. Amazon Prime coupon code
  2. Apple iPhone x coupon
  3. Hosting coupon codes etc

So you understand what a coupon blog post is, right? Create these blog entries to increase your earnings.

7. Pricing Blog posts

Pricing blog posts are posts where you explain the pricing structure of any product related to your niche to your blog readers.

These types of posts are also valuable for generating affiliate income.

Here’s an example:

  1. Price of realme2 PRO
  2. IphoneX pricing
  3. What is the price of Apple computers? Etc.

Here’s an example of a Pricing Blog Post: Samsung galaxy S20 Price in India

8. Event Blogging type Blog posts

These are the type of blog posts that we write for a specific event.

These blog posts only get read during a specific time of the year or any event.

For example, we can write blog posts for the Indian festivals Diwali, Christmas, or any event. It shouldn’t necessarily be a festival.

For example:

  1. Christmas sale for iPhone x
  2. Black Friday discount for Electronic items
  3. Electronics Diwali sale, etc.

Here’s an example of an event blog post from my blog: GeneratePress Premium Black Friday Deals

So you can write these specific articles and rank them for a particular event and generate huge affiliate incomes from these types of articles.

There are many different types of events going on every year; spy other bloggers and what they are writing about these events on their blogs, and you can get a good idea.

9. Guest Post

Guest posts are blog entries written for someone else’s blog in exchange for a backlink from their website or websites.

Remember that before you place some links into the guest post, we need to give value to the blog article.

Only one or two relevant hyperlinks should be taken from the guest post text.

It will never happen if you dump a bunch of links into your blog articles and expect the blog owner to accept your material.

The Author or the blog owner will never approve your content after seeing all those links, so try to keep guest posts as natural as possible; assume that you are waiting for your own blog while writing a guest post.

Here’s an example of one of the guest posts that I did: 17 Best FREE Keyword Research Tools for Bloggers [Ultimate List]

10. Thought Leadership Post

Thought leadership blog posts are the type of blog posts that shows expertise and your thoughts on a particular topic.

For example, you could write what do you think about a particular topic on your blog, etc.

For Example:

  • what I wish I had known before writing my first book
  • Mistakes I made as a Book Author etc

You should only write these types of Blog posts once you have a good reader base.

11. Newsjacking Post

Newsjacking Blog Articles are blog posts that address current events in your area or sector.

The primary principle behind creating these types of Blog articles is that we must create them faster than everyone else in order to have a fair edge in placing our content at the top of search engines.

It is also known as the First Mover Strategy.

These sorts of blog articles may be highly advantageous to your site since people are more inclined to read about new actions in their area.

In this manner, you may attract more visitors to your blog.

12. Infographic Blog Posts

Infographic Blog Posts are blog posts that use instructive images to communicate the material of a conventional blog in a more visual way.

Instead of providing information in a text-based manner, we create an infographic in these sorts of blog entries (Visually appealing Images).

Infographics blog entries are often images in portrait format.

That is, the breadth is shorter, and the height is greater.

Several tools available on the internet today assist us in creating infographics.

For example, Canva, Visme, and others.

Here’s an example of an Infographics type of Blog Post

13. Blog Series

Blog Series are blog postings in which you post a series of blog entries about a single topic.

As an example,

You may create an Interview Series in which you interview Influential People in your niche.

Review Series, in which you will review every product in your field.

You may make as many series as you like for your blog and then write blog entries inside those series.

These sorts of blog entries will not only appear excellent to others but will also entice your readers to return for more new information.

14. Videos

I understand that creating videos is not for everyone, but if you are a video producer, this is a bonus.

As you may be aware, video material is becoming increasingly popular.

People are paying greater attention to visual platforms, consuming less textual material, listening to podcasts more, and the advent of new video platforms such as TikTok.

I am confident that videos will control the future.

So, if you’re comfortable making videos, you should make them and upload them on YouTube.

There are several sites where you may broadcast your films; the greatest thing is that you will never be charged for doing so; they are all free.

So why waste that chance?

Make a video and share it on all of the free video-making services.

And embed your video anywhere it makes sense in your blog posts; this will help you build your site much faster.

People can now intimately connect with your blog as a personal individual, so they realize it’s not simply some random brand putting out content.

People will realize that there is a genuine person behind this business that works tirelessly to make his brand superior to others.

That is why you should think about making videos for your blog.

15. Controversial Posts

Controversial blog content might be dangerous for your blog.

So the fundamental goal behind this kind of Blog article is to provide information about a contentious issue.

Because of their contentious character, these issues are read more, shared more, and people engage with them more.

It can be harmful if you write incorrect content on your blog about a sensitive issue since people may quit reading your site, you may face other threats if people don’t like it, and so on.

So, always write data-driven articles in contentious posts, and make sure your piece has adequate proof to back it up.

16. CheatSheets, Checklists and To-do’s

Cheatsheets or checklists are blog entries in which you provide individuals with a cheatsheet or checklist of material to help them with their tasks.

A cheat sheet is a sort of blog article in which you spell out all of the requirements that must be met in relation to anything in your field.

As an example:

  1. A Cheatsheet for Cooking Amazing Cake that people will love.
  2. A Cheatsheet for Loosing 5 kg weight in one month.
  3. A Cheatsheet for Writing blog posts that goes viral.

So you get the idea. You lay out all the different steps that have been promised in the Lead Magnet.

So that is the whole idea behind a Cheatsheet type of lead magnet.

These types of blog posts list the resources for a specific topic.

For example:

  1. All the SEO resources that you’ll ever need.
  2. Blogging Resources to make your blogging work easier.
  3. All the online tools for better productivity online Etc.

Final Words

Thus, these are all the different types of blog entries you might create for your website, and if you do, you can be sure that your blog will be successful.
